About Us - Port Melbourne Cricket Club

The Port Melbourne Cricket Club (PMCC), founded in 1874, is one of oldest sporting clubs in Australia, and one of the twelve founding clubs of the Melbourne District Cricket competition. The club’s long and proud history includes 2 VSDCA Championship Titles and 29 Premierships (including 10 in the 1st Grade).

Our Teams

Men’s Cricket

We field 5 teams in the Victoria Sub-District Cricket Association. The 5th team is our development squad used to transition our Junior players into Senior cricket. We also field a Masters team for over 40s players as part of the Eastern Cricket Association.

Women’s Cricket

Currently, we do not field any women’s team in any competition. However, we are aiming to launch our women’s program in the next year. If you would like to join; please get in touch with us.

Junior Boys Cricket

We field a number of teams in the South East Cricket Association (SECA) at the U16, U14, U12, and Rookies level. We also run a Blasters program for U8s through the cricket season at Albert Park.
We also field an U15 Representative team for the J G Craig Shield tournament in the VSDCA in January.

Junior Girls Cricket

We field Junior girls teams in the All Girls Cricket Competition. Our girls program is growing year on year with our aim to eventually provide a pathway into our Senior’s Women’s Program.

Girls are also welcome to play in Mixed teams with the Boys.

Where We Play

Port Melbourne Cricket Ground

Port Melbourne Cricket Ground has been our home ground since 1874 and is considered as one of the best grounds in Melbourne to play cricket on. PMCG is also the location of our club rooms and main training facility for all our teams.

J L Murphy Reserve

We have two grounds at J L Murphy Reserve. Woodruff Oval is a Turf wicket used by the Senior 3s and 4s teams. Aanenson Oval is a synthetic wicket used by most of our Junior boys and girls teams.
